Million, leader of Lagos banks’ robberies gang arrested

Operatives of the Inspector General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team, IRT, weekend, in Benin, Edo State, reportedly arrested a leader of a gang of bank robbers, who usually disguised as a woman during operations.

The alleged leader of the notorious gang of bank robbers, Clement Abanara, was arrested by the police in an apartment at the Osayande Estate.

Vanguard gathered that the suspect, also known as Million, allegedly took part in the Lekki, Ikorodu, Festac and Agbara bank robberies (all in Lagos), where his gang carted away millions of naira, destroyed several vehicles and left several persons, including policemen and a pregnant woman, dead.

The IRT, led by CSP Abba Kyari, had in November 2015, launched a manhunt for the bank robbers. Kelly Fotor, one of the suspects arrested at a wedding in Sapele, Delta State, had told Vanguard that Million was the only member of the gang who disguised as a woman during operations.

Fotor also told Vanguard that Million is an experienced kidnapper, who has over eight rifles in his possession.

Kidnapped Majority Leader, son

Recall that Million was once declared wanted by Lagos State former Commissioner of Police, Umar Manko, in December 2012, after he led a four-man gang of kidnappers to abduct former Majority Leader of Lagos State House of Assembly, Tofeeq Adeniji, in Lagos, and took him through the rivers to Delta State, where he demanded N30 million as ransom.

It was reported that N4 million was agreed as ransom and one of the lawmaker's sons, who was said to have taken the money to the kidnappers, was also abducted and released along with his father after additional ransom was paid.

Vanguard gathered that four members of the gang arrested along side one of their financiers by men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, Ikeja, took the operatives to a mansion built by Million, but met the house empty.

A source told Vanguard that the operatives trailed Million's wife to Warri Delta State, where she was arrested before taking the police to Benin, where her husband was arrested in a rented apartment.

Yerima vs olisa metuh

By Ena Ofugara
(the moral of the story is you must try to be Muslim and Hausa Fulani)
Yerima: Accused of 1 bilion embezzlement.
Came to court without handcuff.
Supporters attacked EFCC and ICPC officials and destroyed properties
Bail set at 100 million
Olisa Metuh
Accused of COLLECTING 400 million
Came to court…2 different courts handcuffed
For money laundering, bail set at 400 million/
For merely tearing his own statement, bail set at 300 million.
Thus, it is better to be Fulani and directly embezzle 1 billion, get your Northern supporters to attack EFCC and ICPC officials as you will get a bail of 100 million and surety with little amount of property. If you are Igbo and tear your own statement, for that paper destroyed, you get a bail of 300 million.
100 million bail for stealing 1 billion, 300 million bail for tearing your own piece of paper.

Gov. Okowa Condemns The Killing Of Ubulu-Uku King

The Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, has condemned in strong terms the killing of the monarch of Ubulu-Uku, His Royal Majesty Obi Edward Akaeze Ofulue III.
Governor Okowa, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, said that the death of the monarch has opened a sacrilegious chapter in the history of the state and vowed that the state, under his watch, would ensure that the incidents of the abduction and his subsequent death would be thoroughly investigated.
The Governor further said, “It was sad that a reigning king was abducted but an unheard-of fact was his murder in the most dehumanizing circumstances by his abductors, in the forest.
“I have directed an inquiry into this abominable act and call on Deltans; particularly the kingdom and the security agencies to work harmoniously to unearth the culprits.”
Mr Okowa vowed that King Edward’s death would mark a new vista in the battle against kidnapping and other violent crimes in the state.
He called on parents to warn their wards about the companies they keep as the state was out to make a guinea pig of anybody found to be culpable in related crimes.
His Royal Majesty, Obi Akaeze Ofulue the III, was held for about two weeks by his abductors but his body was found in the thick bush of Umunede, Ika Local Government Area on Thursday morning.

Super Eagles draw against Tunisia not bad result for Nigeria – Ex-international

Etim Esim, an ex-international on Saturday said that the home-based Super Eagles 1-1 draw against Tunisia was not a bad result for the country. Etim who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on telephone in Lagos, said that there was room for improvement in their next match against Guinea.

“The Tunisian team is a strong side; they have a well-coordinated league than what we have in Nigeria, so I’m not surprised with the result.

“A win or a draw is all we need in our next match to qualify to the next stage of the tournament,’’ he said. Royals Olajide, Secretary of the Women Football Amateur Association (WAFA), said the team should improve its style of play to remain in the tournament.

Olajide urged Coach Sunday Oliseh to work on the lapses in the team’s defence. “They will get to the second round of the tournament but the players need to redouble their effort.

“Our attack is good but the defence needs to tighten up,’’ he said. Similarly some football fans in Ondo State urged the team to tighten its defence and improve on their scoring chances in the next match against Guinea.

The fans also commended the Eagles 1-1 draw against Tunisia, saying that the Eagles’ game was improving by the day. They also commended the technical prowess of Coach Sunday Oliseh, appealing to football fans to support the team.

Coach Samson Unuanel of Sunshine Stars FC of Akure said that the team put up a fighting spirit. “I think the Eagles’ game is improving by the day, they only need to be tutored on some lapses in the defence and scoring chances,’’ he said.

Wahab Bankole, spokesman for the Sunshine Stars FC of Akure, also said the Eagles should be commended, adding that they needed concentration to win their next match. “I think they have performed well, they only need concentration to be victorious in subsequent matches,’’ Bankole said.

NAN reports that the Eagles, with four points, would play against Guinea on Feb. 26.

Chelsea’s Long List Of Possible Departures Published on January 22nd, 2016

For some reason reports like the ones analyzing Hazard’s departure will not stop seeing the light of day. Why would anyone really believe he or any other player who is part of the starting eleven will leave this January is beyond me. Some have gone as far as to create massive scenarios, most of them including a series of swaps between the Blues and Real Madrid, swaps destined to bring in Bale to Stamford Bridge and have Hazard replace Ronaldo. Most recently, Metro even reported that Courtois and Diego Costa could be leaving to PSG, which, again, is something that will likely never happen.

The latest news to dismiss, again when it comes to this particular transfer window, is Oscar’s departure to Juventus. The Brazilian looks a bit out of touch but not to the extent of seeing him give up and say goodbye. He has always been a interesting character, sometimes reminding us of Kaka. Life in London might be a bit too much for the midfielder who could be tempted by Juventus who are rumored to be on the prowl for some creativity. Again, nothing is expected to actually happen right now. If something does go down, it will go down during the summer when negotiations will be more serious.

Out of all the rumors that have hit the news these past few days, one has turned out to be true. Disappointed with how little time he spent on the pitch, Papy Djilobodji is moving on a loan deal to Werder Bremen. According to the Daily Mirror, the Germans admitted to be in contact with the defender who was seen as a solution for this season. Mourinho’s departure cut his chances of becoming a team regular and increased his chances of leaving. The center-back is under contract with Chelsea until 2019 and is very likely to spend several months with other clubs starting with Werder just as Lukaku did before leaving for good.

Chelsea "Prepared to offer up to £50m" for this Premier League star!

A+A-EMAILPRINT

Guus Hiddink has denied any transfer involvement this month and has described doing business in January as "desperation". However, it's being reported that Chelsea are prepared to go back in for John Stones and will offer up to £50m to sign him.

Much has been made of Stones and the FOUR transfer bids that were rejected by Everton. Roberto Martinez stood by the clubs decision and has once again re-iterated the fact that any offers for one of the brightest talents in the game will be rejected again. Money talks and £50m is something Everton WILL
have to consider.

It's not like Chelsea to hand over £50m to a club for Merseyside is it?? Fernando Torres moved in January when Liverpool found our offer too good to refuse so why are Everton any different?

We have to consider that with the window open, it's just pure speculation but with Chelsea's defensive problems still apparent and our inability to keep clean sheets of late, Stones would be a great addition.

He has proven himself in this league and has outstanding ability. He is English, he is young and has plenty of years left ahead of him at the top level. His use of the ball is good but it has been pinpointed of late that he likes to dither in his own box encouraging pressure when he should be releasing it quicker. I am of the opinion that he is has immense confidence in his own ability and it's refreshing to see a defender with that ability the ball at his feet - Franck Leboeuf anyone??

With Chelsea's precarious League position a genuine concern and our focus being moving up the table as quickly as possible, many have a view that reinforcements ARE required. John Stones is one of those players and it will be interesting to see if Chelsea do make their move next week.

What do you think of Stones and a potential £50m offer? Do you think Everton would/could turn it down? Is he someone you would like to see here?
